Hold On

"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose." Romans 8:28

I started writing songs when I was in college. Growing up, I experience some traumatic things in my life. Because I was a person who kept everything bottled up inside, it was hard for me to articulate to people my feelings and emotions. So I kept a prayer journal and begin writing from there. Writing became therapy for me. From those moments in prayer birthed out the songs that you hear today!

Most recently I premiered one of those songs in my first official video "Hold On." Hold On is one of the songs featured on my EP project, Desires. I wrote Hold On in 2005 while doing some housecleaning. Early in life I learned how to gain strength from the scriptures; I learned to speak the word over my life. That's how Hold On came to past. I was cleaning and singing when the old asian proverb came to me, "The race is not given to the swift nor the strong, but to the one that endureth to the end." I sung it and added Galatians 6:9 to it, "Be not weary in well doing, for you shall reap if you faint not." From there a song was born.

Hold On is comprised of several different scriptures in the Bible. They are the following:

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not (Galatians 6:9).

The LORD is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him (Nahum 1:7).

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might (Ephesians 6:10).

Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much (James 5:16)

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding (Proverbs 3:5).

For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us (2 Corinthians 1:20)

Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the LORD will be with you (2 Chronicles 20:17).

The central message of encouragement is conveyed throughout the song. No matter what you are going through and no matter what you maybe facing, stay encouraged, stay prayful. Know that in the midst of your troubles, God is working on your behalf. For he knows and He cares.  Enjoy Hold On music video!
