Worship in the House: Tamela Mann's Concert

It's the week before the concert and I am extremely anxious.  This has got to go down as one of the biggest moments in my life.  I have had some pivotal and significant moments, but nothing of this musical caliber has ever happened.  I am opening up for one of my most favorite gospel singers in the world- Ms. Tamela Mann!!!

Tamela Mann is an American actress and gospel singer, known for her role as Cora in Tyler Perry's plays, including I Can Do Bad All By Myself, Diary of a Mad Black Woman, Madea's Family Reunion, Madea's Class Reunion, Meet the Browns, and What's Done in the Dark. Mann began her career as a singer with the gospel group Kirk Franklin and the Family. Mann was a featured soloist on several tracks while with Franklin's group, including "Don't Take Your Joy Away", "Now Behold the Lamb", and "Lean on Me", the latter of which also included Mary J. Blige, Crystal Lewis, R. Kelly, and Bono. She released her own album, the Master Plan, in 2009.

Mann has also made appearances in movies such as Kingdom Come, Diary of a Mad Black Woman, and the late Whitney Houston's Sparkle. Mann recorded some songs on the soundtrack for Diary of a Mad Black Woman, including participating in the song "Father (Can You Hear Me)". Mann is the wife of David Mann, who is known for his role as "Deacon Leroy Brown" in several of Perry's plays.

I grew up singing some of her songs in church when I was little. I watched her on television.  I love how God has evolved her and her husband in ministry.  There relationship is beautiful!!! So I am extremely honored to open up for her.  In addition to opening up for Tamela, I will also be ministering in the place where I serve and worship on every Sunday.  As we say it in our hometown, "it don't get no betta than this!"

God has granted me so much favor in this season.  I am a testament that when you submit to God's will and wait upon his timing, he will grant your heart's desires.  In this process,  there hasn't been not a want or need that God has not granted. I wanted a live sound, God blessed with a band.  I wanted singers, my friends said, "Kim, we got your back."  I needed a place to practice, God blessed us with Pastor friends and  church members who opened their doors for us.  I need a stylist, out of the nowhere, I recieved a message from an image consultant saying she just wants to be a blessing. No good thing have God withheld from me!!!  And I am so grateful!!!  So I'm ready!  Ready for what God has in store for the women's conference, the concert, and Kimberly Gunn Music #Gensis!!!
